Erin McIntosh

Erin McIntosh is a process-driven artist creating abstract paintings exploring nature, music, and movement. Born in Ohio, she moved to Georgia in the early 1990’s by way of Texas and Alabama. She graduated from the University of Georgia (UGA) with a BFAs in Studio Art and Art Education, where she also received her MFA with a focus in Drawing ad Painting. She is based in northeast Georgia where she has lived and worked for over 20 years as an artist and educator.

Her work has been published in New American Paintings, The Georgia Review, Create Magazine, and has been widely exhibited and collected. She has held residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and Atlantic Center for the Arts. Her work is represented by Gregg Irby Gallery in Atlanta, GA, ARTicles Gallery in St. Petersburg, FL and Weinberger Fine Art in Kansas City, MO.

Erin has held teaching appointments with UGA’s Cortona Italy Study Abroad program, where she will return to teach Drawing in the summer of 2025. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of North Georgia. When Erin is not painting or teaching she is riding her road bike and learning to play the violin.
